Volunteer
In addition to the groups and individuals who organize and run diaper drives, we are in need of individuals to help on a regular basis to build and operate the diaper bank. As we are now shipping 150,000 diapers a month, we need volunteers of all types to help maintain our growth. If you’re interested in volunteering, contact us at info@utahdiaperbank.org.
There are many ways you can be involved. Here are a just a few:
As-Needed Opportunities:

Prepare and/or deliver monthly diaper distributions

Help manage inventory after large diaper drives

Staff booths at farmers markets and volunteer fairs

Pick up and/or deliver diapers

Help wrap diapers (package diapers in packs of 25 diapers each for distribution)
Ongoing Opportunities:
Diaper Wrapping Supervisors

Commitment - at least three months, 4-8 hours/month
-
Skills – basic internet and computer skills, ability to load/unload 10-20 lb. boxes

Materials – internet access, large SUV, van, or pick-up truck

Duties – pick up, deliver, and oversee the diaper-wrapping event (combining packaged diapers into packs of 25 diapers each), and deliver the wrapped diapers (20-60 boxes) to our location
Distribution Help

Commitment – recurring, 1-3 hours every last Wednesday evening of the month

Skills – ability to lift up to 20 lbs.

Materials - transportation to packing location in West Valley, Utah.

Duties – pack diapers to be distributed, and/or deliver one or more shipments within 5 days after packing
Facility Staff

Commitment - at least three months, 4 hours/week

Skills – basic internet and computer skills

Materials – none

Duties – facilitate partner and volunteer diaper pick-up and drop-offs during a weekly 4-hour shift
Service Organization Coordinator

Commitment - at least six months, 4-8 hours/month

Skills – basic internet and computer skills, writing skills, sales or marketing experience

Materials – internet and printer access

Duties – contact various service organizations (e.g. Lions club, Rotary clubs) to share our mission with them and solicit to sponsor a diaper drive or fundraiser
Corporate Coordinator

Commitment - at least six months, 4-8 hours/month

Duties – contact various corporations to share our mission with them and solicit to sponsor a diaper drive or fundraiser
Diaper Drive Coordinator

Commitment - at least six months, 4-8 hours/month

Skills – basic internet and computer skills, organization skills

Materials – internet and printer access

Duties - work with individuals and organizations running diaper drives by providing support materials (we have supply bins, flyers, banners, etc.) and a brief training, arrange for pick-up or delivery of the diapers, and send a thank-you note or certificate of appreciation after the drive
